How many times do you hear the phrase, “you need to relax” in your life? Truth be told it’s hard for individuals to relax with all the pressures we face in our daily lives. We have our household, job responsibilities, school, personal activities, and children just to name a few things that keeps our mind’s going in circles. Unfortunately, we feel like there isn’t enough time in a day to do all the things we need to do.
Stress comes from poor time management and not knowing how to handle situations that just pop up in your life. You know what I mean, you have everything planned out and bang, something comes up! Our Creator God wants us to be at peace in every aspect of our lives, so having control over our emotions is very important in maintaining good health. Meditation is a good relaxing exercise for the body, mind, and soul. It reduces stress and can ease tension throughout the body.
Meditation helps reduce blood pressure, heart attacks, and strokes for those who get an early start on these conditions. Making meditation part of your daily routine can improve your overall health and reduce your need for prescribed medication. It also helps decrease the lactic acid in the blood which is associated with anxiety.
Meditation helps with emotional issues as well giving individuals a sense of oneness with the Creator and the Universe. Some may find it difficult to do this exercise because it requires concentration and emptying the mind. However, when done properly with some practice you will find self- fulfillment and self -discovery. If you find it difficult try saying mantras to help you along the way. Saying one single syllable like “Om” can keep you centered and focused.
There are many different factors to maintaining good health, but let’s start with relaxing our mind so that we can handle our emotions better.
