Reflection of A Woman

As women, we take on so much and most of the time it goes unrecognized. Not that we expect recognition, it’s really just a part of our nature, but from time to time it’s so nice to hear “Thank you”, “Good Job”, “I really appreciate you”. It is very easy to get caught up in the daily routine because it HAS to be done; we tend to forgot how important our role really is.

We are wives, Mothers, Coaches, Nurses, Cheerleaders, Advocates, Friends, Lovers, Hair dressers and the list goes on and on. In the midst of all these hats we’re wearing, we lose ourselves. There is always errand, doctor appointments, breakfast, lunch and dinner to be cooked, housekeeping, laundry; hair needs to be done, etc., etc., and it goes on and on. Taking on these roles/hats, we placed ourselves in Wonder Woman mode and it can be hard to ask for help because we try so hard to alleviate everyone else’s pressures.

When thinking of ourselves, we find it difficult to fathom the idea of splurging on “Us”, we make excuses. “Well the girls needs shoes”, “hubby has had his eye on this watch”, we push back or wants and needs, for everyone else. It can feel like you’re doing something wrong, when it’s something that should be done as well. I love doing things for others, it gives me pleasure but I do know I have needs and wants too. I miss going to get nails and toes done, mini vacays, or just drinks with the girls. We deserve to have these small treats, we work hard, we should be able to play a little bit too and not feel guilty about it.

The Man, Husband, Father of your children expects a lot from Woman, Wife or Mother of his children. That is absolutely okay (Team Work) but I’m a true believer of what you give is what you get. If you expect her to be loving and affectionate, show her, if you want her to treat like her “King”, make sure she doesn’t have an ounce of doubt that she is your “Queen”.

In the daily routine of life, our Kings can get overwhelmed; they need a motivational pep talk too. During their daily obstacles, they can forget to show appreciation and in that moment we should approach lovingly and nudge him a bit. But if we let it continue and he keeps sliding by, now you’re not getting the kisses when he gets home, no date nights, or whatever he was doing to keep a smile on your face is now a distant memory. Now after awhile, negative feeling will harbor and by this time nothing is going to come out nicely. We have to communicate, not nag, fuss and cuss, just talk it out. Remember he too has an “S” on his chest.

A relationship takes 100% from both people, marriage is a partnership. There’s business and pleasure, the recipe will always consist of the same major principles:

  • Commitment

  • Patience/Forgiveness

  • Humility

  • Honesty/Trust

  • Communication

All in all, we have to know our worth and acknowledge his importance. The universe is amazing, so don’t put out what you don’t want to return to you. Love is a gift and blessing; some people go thru life not ever experiencing real love. When you find that perfect (for you) someone, hold tight, treat them right and cherish them dearly.

Queen
