Natural Hair Affair

There has been a lot of talk regarding natural hair especially in the Black community and I believe it’s a topic that has really gone too far. Most of our people have been wearing their natural hair from the beginning of time. It’s nothing new. Now, over a sudden if we wear our natural hair it shows Black pride.
Black pride is not within our hair. It is within ourselves and how we carry ourselves is a big indication on how we feel. We should accept individuals for who they are and not for what we expect them to be. We are very judgmental when it comes to our race, assuming the woman with a perm, weave, or wig has no self worth.
It’s to a point now, that if we see a woman speaking on Black issues, we dismiss their knowledge because they are wearing a weave or wig. The hair does not define who we are as people and it definitely doesn’t change any of the knowledge that person has to offer.

The point is love yourself as you are and embrace any and everything that makes you unique. Take pride in your appearance and attitude and that will speak volumes for the Black race. Anyone can wear African clothing, braids or a fro, but Black pride is within you and nothing can express it better than your confidence.
Peace!
